Celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

Honoring Our Drivers

This week, our Texas companies are celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (September 12-18, 2021). NTDAW is an opportunity to pay our respects and thank professional truck drivers for all their hard-work. They do an essential job that keeps our nation running.

In our business, nothing happens without our drivers. They drive tens of thousands of miles a year delivering hot mix asphalt, ready mix concrete, and other building materials to job sites across the state. They operate in all weather conditions, at all hours of the day and night, and they do it while putting safety first above all else.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic employees across our business, including our drivers, have stepped up to ensure that even when the world stopped, they kept building essential infrastructure and keeping our highways and roadways safe. We’re incredibly grateful for them and are proud to call them part of our Texas family.

So this week, we’ll be highlighting drivers from across our operations to showcase the important work they accomplish day in and day out while being excellent examples of our commitment to putting safety first.

Do you have what it takes? We’re hiring drivers across our North, Central, and South Texas locations – apply today!

Our Commitment to Safety

Our drivers are all trained in the Smith System of driving, a series of interlocking techniques to prevent accidents by optimizing the way they drive and increasing awareness of what’s happening on the road. As our drivers will tell you, operating these vehicles and heavy machinery is a heavy responsibility, and it requires being conscious at all times to operate safely to protect themselves and those around them.
